Why this page is not boilerplate here

A meaningful share of the people who need this catalog have limited vision, limited
dexterity, or are helping someone who does. An inaccessible site selling aging-in-place
equipment is a contradiction, and we would rather be judged on this page than quietly fail it.

What we are aiming for

WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is the standard we build to and check against.

What we have done

• Larger base type. Body text is set at 17px rather than the usual 16px,
  and the layout works at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling.
• Keyboard access. Every link, button, filter, and form control is
  reachable and operable by keyboard, and the focus outline is visible — we have not
  removed it.
• Contrast. Text and interface colours were chosen to meet the AA ratio.
• Real labels on every form field, with hints linked so a screen reader
  reads them together.
• Status messages announced rather than only shown.
• No CAPTCHA, no time limits, no motion. Nothing auto-plays, flashes, or
  expires while you are filling it in.
• Catalog filters are real buttons with pressed state, not styled divs.
• Pages print cleanly — the catalog and capability statement are laid out
  for paper, because plenty of people would rather read them that way.

What is not right yet

Listing this honestly is more useful than claiming conformance.

• The site has been checked by hand and with automated tooling. It has
  not been tested by people who use screen readers or other assistive
  technology daily. That is the test that matters and we have not done it.
• Manufacturer specification sheets we link to are produced by the manufacturer.
  We do not control their accessibility. Ask us and we will get you the
  information another way.
• We have not yet published a large-print or plain-text version of the catalog. Ask and we
  will produce one.
